Merry Christmas Everyone from Cholinergic Urticaria.net!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the holiday season so far. I know I have. This Christmas break has been a lot of fun, and I have really enjoyed it. So Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah/Kwanzaa, or whatever holiday you may celebrate!

It is hard to believe there are only a few days left in 2008. My wife and I always like to take time to reflect back on the year, and also come up with goals and dreams for the 2009 year. I hope 2009 will be a year of a lot of changes. Hopefully I will get a house, my wife will graduate college, and hopefully THE HIVES WILL GO AWAY!

The hives seem like they have been about the same lately. I went down to my families on Christmas eve, and I did have a couple of pretty bad reactions. It is always fun to show my family how I am a freak (lol). My one sister was like, “Wow, so what is this, what is happening to you?” I tried to explain the best I could. “So is it your nerves or something?” she said. I guess I looked pretty cool when my chest was bright red, and then a few very tiny pinpoint hives popped up for a few minutes before vanishing away.

The next day (Christmas), my mother stopped by my apartment to eat some food. My wife and I cooked a  huge turkey (25 pounds if you can believe it), and we had all the trimmings to go with it. It got so hot in my tiny kitchen, that I actually started breaking out into hives and itching really bad while I was carving the turkey. I had to go into the bathroom and pour some cold water on my body to calm down the hives.

All in all, I didn’t let the hives stop me from having a great time this holiday season, and I hope they didn’t bother you either.

Today is possibly the last warm day we will have here for a while. It is sunny right now, and the temperature is supposed to get up to around 67 degrees. So my wife and I are going to a local park to get some outdoor time. I will probably try to get some sun exposure for about 15-60 minutes, although it probably won’t have much of an effect on the hives. In about 3-5 months, I should be able to get way more sun exposure on an almost daily basis. Hopefully it will do something with the hives.
