Hey just recently came across your posts about urticaria. I've had it for over a year and tried a lot of different medications/methods (if curious just ask) to figure them out but basically my hives are triggered from heat... and cold water actually helps calm the hives down for me. Aside from that I'm not sure why anti histamines haven't done anything for me...I took a few different kinds and took them with steroids but had no relief as well as the baths and soaps but right now im doing some new blood tests and am hopefully going to find some more information about urticaria... a friend of mine wants to check out my blood reports and look at genetic factors and what not but if u guys got any other suggestions im all ears ... thankss

Hello Melissa,

Thanks so much for your comment! I am sorry that you too have hives. You certainly are not alone, and a lot of people suffer from odd hives conditions. Hopefully they will go away soon.

As far as the Vitamin D, yes--I did actually try Vitamin D supplementation for a while. I didn't see any noticeable results (in terms of helping the hives), so I eventually stopped taking them. I prefer to get it naturally (and safely) from the sun rather than take pills. You just need to be safe when getting sun exposure, and avoid sun burns or skin cancer risks.

If you think you are deficient, you could always get tested by a doctor to know for sure.

As far as the house, I am sure you will get one someday if you work hard. Just keep your credit great, work hard, save money, and you will find that perfect home =).

Thanks again for your comments, and best of luck to you!

Hi Ben,
I'm also struggling with hives for quite a few months, and like you, I'm trying to find the cure for it.
It's funny that you mentioned about how you also had hives a few years back, after you spent some time in your room without getting much sunlight. That also happened to me - I've had hives back when I was a teenager, and it started after two years that I wasn't studying and was spending a lot of time at home. So, I was just wondering if you tried taking lots of vitamin D supplement already - I'm planning on starting taking them this week.
Anyway, I'm glad to know that you guys got a big house - maybe someday my boyfriend and I will get one too :) Thanks for sharing your experience with hives and your life in general.
