Anyone Tried Cogentin (Anticholinergic) for Cholinergic Urticaria?

April 19, 2014 by Hivesguy

Has anyone else tried Cogentin?

I suffered from cholinergic urticaria for about two years…a really bad case, as I started to apply for handicapped parking because I couldn’t walk for long without breaking into hives.

Anyway, my doctor prescribed a small dose of Cogentin for its anticholinergic side effects. Although I took the medication for six months, my hives disappeared immediately.  I’ve been off all medication for six years now and haven’t had a hive since.

I hope that this helps someone out there. Cholinergic urticaria is awful.
