This disease only hits in the winter, so what if one were to move to say, California, where it’s never really winter? Has anyone tried this, and has it helped with your cholinergic urticaria?
Note: If you already live in a warm/sunny place year round and still have bad cholinergic urticaria, that doesn’t answer my question. Your cholinergic urticaria is probably bad enough to happen regardless. I’m asking about people with milder cholinergic urticaria that perhaps, a move might make a difference.
Thanks,

I lived in Thailand for a year and never had an overt case of hives. Here in winter I have my usual daily episodes but not in summer. Of course, even in the tropics if you get a cold snap or go up in the mountains who knows? Watch out for other mysterious diseases though, esp. food poisoning. 🙂

I don’t get it– why does it hit in the winter? That seems so counterintuitive!

It’s winter here and mine just came back after 10 years dormant. Though I’ve had other winters and no flare ups. 10 years ago I did live in Los Angeles and that’s when I first got them – however i was on an adderall type med and now that I’m on it again it has reappeared. Sorry I know this wasn’t much help!

I live in Michigan but I’m originally from Saudi Arabia and I do visit home once every year. The weather didn’t make any difference to me honestly. I believe I can say that I am cured finally and I just happen to come back to this website to see if I can help others. So here is what worked for me:
1- I’ve been using a portable sauna for almost an entire year to force the sweat out.
2- I had a really bad anxiety cooping with college life so I went to a doctor and addressed my anxiety.
3- Finally, I started taking extremely hot showers daily. By doing this everyday I never get a CU attack. I used to get itchy taking hot showers at first but after the first two points that I mentioned I managed to take a hot shower without feeling pain.
I hope this helps.
