Well, I’m 14. when I first felt the painful itching sensation, I thought it was allergies. However, I started getting it a lot.
I could be sitting in my room doing nothing, and then I’d just feel this uncomfortable feeling all over my body. It’s so bad I just stand up and walk around to calm it. Sometimes it happens when I cook.
But my question is this: Do I have to take medicine or go to the doctor for cholinergic urticaria?
Thanks,
Alex R

Hello, Alex. It’s always a good idea to get a checkup with a doctor to confirm the diagnosis, check your health status, and learn what medications might work best for you. Allergists or dermatologists tend to be most familiar with this condition. There are many medications used to manage cholinergic urticaria symptoms, such as antihistamines. Also, some people manage this condition through sweat therapy, diet, and other methods. I’d recommend spending some time reading over this forum, and then consult with a doctor for the best treatment options.
