Hello everyone,
I am 16 years old and do a fair amount of physical exercise. Recently (last few years), I have had a very itchy scalp when exercising or doing physical activity to the point I’m scratching every 10 seconds.
I went to Italy a few months back, and I found myself itching and scratching my scalp a lot due to the heat.
Is this hives?
And does it get worse, because fitness is a really important part of what I want to do, and the climates of the country I want to work in.
Thank you for reading,
Will

It may be the beginnings of cholinergic urticaria, but there are other things that could be causing it. I did have an itchy scalp that would precede a hives attack during one point in my battle with cholinergic urticaria, but it didn’t always happen that way. Usually it affected my body more.
I would make sure there is no fungal infection present on your scalp, no dry scalp issue, etc. I would also strongly suspect that you’ve developed a food allergy to something if nothing else checks out.
An antihistamine may help in the short term until you can figure out the problem (always check with a doctor before taking medications).
I hope you get it resolved soon.

Dry scalp is due to being in the sun without a hat on or using the wrong shampoo in some cases.

My scalp always itches as part of a hives attack so it’s possible you are experiencing something of the sort.
