So I’ve had cholinergic urticaria for 10 years, and I’m constantly on the look out for anything that may help alleviate symptoms.
I’ve recently read a book which advocated a whole host of foods, herbs, and supplements to lower histamine levels, and I wonder if anyone on here has tried and had benefit (or not) from the following:
– black cumin seed (either food or supplement)
– bacopa monnieri supplement
– brown seaweed supplement
– chlorella supplement
– coleus forksholi supplement
Thanks,
John

Histamine-lowering supplements have been discussed a few times on the forum before, and it seems that they don’t really help people with cholinergic urticaria. One person claimed DAO helped them, but they never responded to follow-up questions, and people suspected the post was spam.

Black Seed Oil reduces histamine levels! It doesn’t necessarily cure or treat CU. I took it for a month and i saw no real change after a while. It acted as a antihistamine for few days and the effect started to go away after.

It might help alleviate symptoms. Check for h Pylori and stop taking the antihistamines (if your doctor approves). I only got the heat hives after taking antihistamines. Seems like when body got hot it wanted to force it out. Eat a clean and easy to digest diet. I’m finally getting better.
