Hello,
I am a 45-year-old woman, and I have cold urticaria, as well as the new thing: Red non itchy bumps that appear if the wind blows just a little bit.
It started after my trip to Montego Bay Jamaica in July 2014. I have been dealing with this new thing for a year now, and have seen doctor after doctor and have tried everything.
Nothing works. Has anyone been given the injection shot Xolair???
My life has completely changed. I really don’t want to do anything. Can’t enjoy the outside like I used to.
So sick of this…

That’s interesting as I too was in that same area of Jamaica as well as Mexico in 2012 when my heat urticaria started later that year. The cold had started a few yrs . earlier whenever I snow blowed or skied.

This is interesting in all my years on this forum I have never see someone post about cold urticaria although I had heard about it online, doctors are pretty useless to be honest they always give anti histamine which don’t work and mine even admitted his knowledge of this problem isn’t very broad. Someone was on the show embarrassing bodies where they diagnosed him with urticaria and they told him to use sweat therapy (which works) and anti histamines (several) but I’ve never read about cures for cold urticaria

I am a chronic urticaria with heat which leads to anaphylaxis shock in 80% of my reactions. My issues were triggered by a a traumatic illness at the age of 10, I am now 41… I have had this so long that hives are the least of my concerns I know care how funny I look to people I am no longer bothered by the itching or crazy swelling that occurs in my ear, lips welts ect…. What does really bother me is the limitations that are in my life. I live 5 minutes from the beach and I can’t go.I avoid heat at all cost although this is very difficult since I live in South FL. I am on the daily doses of antihistamines which helped for a brief time. I just tried prednisone and yeah no hives but I went straight into shock with very little indication. I have the same question as above has anyone tried Xolair?

I’d really be cautious. I had my hives start out non itchy and then itch like crazy about 6 months later.
