Hi everyone! Finding this website and forum has been amazing!! I’ve never met anyone who has any idea what I’m talking about when I say cholinergic urticaria.
I began having symptoms in 1970 or ‘71 and was finally diagnosed with cholinergic urticaria in 1979 at the age of 21. I am now almost 60 and still suffer at least once a week with hives. I was told when I was young that I’d ‘outgrow’ this by the time I was 30.
Anyone else here who has suffered for this long and is there any truth to the ‘outgrowing’ idea?
Thank you!
B-Kim

Hi B-Kim
I’ve had CU off and on for over 20 years. It can get better over time or go into remission and never resurface again.

I have had this since 6 years old and I do not think it will ever go away. Cool weather is heaven.

I have had CU since I was 15, I went through anti-histamine treatment and tried too many types of medications I lost track of them. What is working for me now is intense workout or exercise (such as football) every few days and that would keep this horrible condition at bay
