Hiya,
I’ve suffered from Cholinergic Urticaria since I was in my early teens am now in my early thirties–so about twenty years. It all began when there was a heat wave. I live in the UK so you can imagine heat waves like the one which triggered my condition is rare. My body became covered in head to toe in the whirls and hives which only wanted to spread. I was so hot and skin so painful it hurt to move.
My mother phoned the doctors and was given antihistamines. Went to specialists and the like until they told me what I was suffering from. I’ve been on a number of different types of antihistamines over the years. It’s something I’ve learned to live with and control. I know the warning signs and know how to stop the worse of it.
The antihistamines stop the rash and itching most times. Although it doesn’t stop the feelings of heat stroke if I get too hot, like feeling dizzy and faint. The doctors say my condition is worse than most who suffer from this. I was wondering if others ever feel as worse as I do when heat is too much. It’ll be interesting to hear from people who suffer from the same as I. As I’ve never heard from anyone with the same condition.
Thanks,
Samzi

You are not alone….we are a loan! (bloody 118 adverts) haha
I have it too, i like to to think i know my triggers a bit better and can deal with it better. I will post an update about how it started for me. It sounds very similar to yours, however Anti histamines only sorta work, can still feel something like…. bubbling, (not the correct word to describe the sensation) under my skin. Hot showers ALWAYS trigger it, as does very hot exercising.
I work in a leisure centre, so its pretty bad at times, especially going to clean the sauna out. Imagine sitting in it with this condition then standing up and scrubbing and squeegeeing for 30 mins. I have found that i have quite dry skin now, used to be such an oily bastard, had a sheen on my forehead, but now i have eczema there, and in a couple of other places.
I was talking to a customer about it the other day and he was in his late 40’s/50’s said that he had a very similar thing when he was my age and it lasted for a few years then went :S he is alright now, i mean he has a sauna every day!
Also i’m from the UK, if you want to chat more about it create a throwaway gmail account and we’ll hit each other up!

Me too , i’m 16 but i suffered from it since early childhood but since 5 years ago it got really worse , whenever i do any effort or go outside when its sunny or hot it strikes me really bad , even when i get nervous or angry (wierd) and especially in summer time , if i dont be careful i’d feel dizzy and faint just like you said , i even find it hard to breathe sometimes . i cant go outside the house or go anywhere even going to school is pretty hard :/ antihistamines dont actually work well in my case they only make me sleepy all the time , its hard to live with it but i always keep hoping for a better future 🙂 i even thought im the only one who has urticaria because even the doctors couldnt do anything for me .

My symptoms began In 2011
5 months after I had hernia surgery
I was wondering if the hernia mesh is causing the symptoms
