Hello everyone,
I’ve been dealing with this condition since my freshmen year of high school. I just graduated college so for about 8 years now. I get these outbreaks whenever the heater in the house or car is on, when I get embarrassed, scared, startled and anything like that. Sometimes I’ll just get them just because. As I am writing this I’m getting it and it’s driving me nuts.
I’m currently taking Hydroxizone for it which my doctor prescribed but it’s not doing anything for me. I tried other things to help fight yeast overgrowth and nothing.
The only thing that seems to work (and believe me, I know no one wants to hear this because we want to find a cure so badly) is sweating on a regular basis.
I played baseball all throughout high school and college and whenever I was in season I never suffered from this. The only time I would was when I took the winter off and started back up in the spring, the first few days of working up a sweat I would get the outbreaks but after that they would be gone.
That is literally the only thing that has worked for me. I hope this helps some of you because believe me, I feel your pain. This condition is terrible. And it sucks that there’s nothing out there for it. I’m going to start going to the sauna once a day so I can get rid of but I am dreading it because I know it’s gonna be so bad especially the first time. Anyways, I hope you guys try it and it works for you as well.
Thanks,
-Dc5Nes
(Editor’s Note: always talk to a doctor before trying sweat therapy, as it may not be safe or appropriate for everyone).

Have you tried to change your current diet? The cure to this horrible, time consuming, aggravating problem is in your gut/immune system. Getting exercise and sweating it out helps too. Altering your diet to heal your gut and strengthen your immune system is the key. Try a low sugar, low sodium, hypoallergenic diet that consists of veggies, fresh fruits, organic poultry, organic lean meats. Stay away from processed and refined foods. Stay away from anything that gives you stomach issues, headaches, diahrea etc. Really pay attention at how you feel after your meals. And also take some vitamin D and C pills daily. Double up vitamin D dossage in winter months and sleep with a heater on at night so you stay warm during the night. Clothe yourself properly during winter months. All of that plus exercise, will help cure you or make you tremendously better, I promise. Just be patient. I didn’t see improvement after I changed my diet until 7 months. Everything will be ok, Godwilling.

I would seek out a functional medicine doctor. They can help you find the cause. I had hives for two years and the doctor said I had leaky gut syndrome. I started taking high doses of probiotics, glutamine powder from ortho molecular, and eliminated dairy and All gluten and my hives are gone. I tried all the over the counter crap and even prescription crap and it made me worse. The problem lies in the gut.

Ask your doctor about Zyrtec/Zantac (75mg)

I know exactly how you feel OP. I have often felt the same way. Only sweating helps. I wouldn’t recommend any pills…seems to just make matters worse. I bought a portable sauna 2 years ago for $60. Whenever I start getting prickly during the winter time I hop right in it for 30 minutes and i’m good to go for the rest of the day.

Actually I just wait until the sauna gets hot and then hop in it for about 15-20 minutes or until I sweat. The sauna is a life saver for me. Don’t even get the urge to scratch when i’m in it.
