Hello people,
I had really bad Cholinergic Urticaria for about one and a half years. The doctors prescribed some anti histamines that were quite useless. The urticaria was associated with a decline in my physical and mental health. After a while, I came to terms with it and felt a lot better about myself.
My physical health still wasn’t great and I knew something was wrong, I decided to focus on my diet and try out different things. After a few semi-disastrous/hilarious/absurd ideas, I realised that I had a problem with gluten. I went on a completely gluten-free diet and my health improved over the course of a few months. By the third month, I noticed break outs of urticaria less and less until eventually it was almost completely gone. Today, about two years later, I have a gluten-free diet and I’m doing fine, have no problems with urticaria. (I feel pricks every so often but nothing that hinders me.)
I’m not suggesting this is a solution to everyone’s problem but the only difference between myself know and back then is diet, it doesn’t take an expert in deduction to realise that there could be a link. I highly recommend going on a gluten-free diet if possible, even if it doesn’t help the urticaria, it will still improve your health.
Bonne Santé!
Scott

I’ve had CU for almost two years now. I’ve been Gluten free for about 3 months and the CU has become milder during that period of time. The hives are still there but the irriation/itcing has dropped dramatically. I’m just waiting to see if at some point the hives begin to fade away. Your story is quite motivating, thanks for sharing.
