I suffered from hives for about a year. Nothing I did worked, and no medication or advice from doctors helped either. The itching was driving me absolutely crazy!!!
This forum helped me tremendously. One of the first things I did was to eliminate all my supplements. Within a week or so, my symptoms began improving. Once everything was cleared up, I started adding them back one-by-one.
I believe the culprit was an Salmon fish oil capsule (from Costco) I had been taking for some time. It’s the only supplement I didn’t add back (and I won’t add it back at this point). I am so relieved.
I also use several of the products recommended on this site just to take better care of my skin. On rare occasion I may get a slight rash, but it’s easily cleared up with a mixture of cortizone cream, Curel Sensitive Skin Cream, and Amlactin. Thanks so much for your help!!!! Hopefully others will find relief.

Another supplement that I believe affected my hives was Vitamin D. When I started that up again, the rash returned.

Ive been suffering from CU for over 15 years. It comes on and off. When its on, my life is hell. I cannot do anything without feeling like ripping my skin off. I still cannot say what the cause is but I know there is a connection with UV rays (sunlight) and an inability to sweat. I am very glad you’ve found relief for yours. My case is definitely not dietary. Only sweating gives me some relief but getting myself to sweat is an issue. Somebody help me!!

I am new to this world of Hives. I have been dealing with them daily for 1 year 4 months. I do 1 hour of infrared sauna twice a week to help me sweat. It takes me about 40 minutes at 145 degrees to start sweating. It does seem to help my hives. I go to a local spa. It costs $10 per visit.
