Okay, well, here’s my issue right now. I lived in California for 15 years. Two years ago I moved to Michigan. I was only here about 2 months until one day, while I was out bowling with friends, I started feeling little needle like pricks all over my body.
Well, it’s 2 years later and the hives are still horrible. At times I would easily describe it as the worst pain in my life. Now I’m about to turn 18… And this is the absolute worst time for this to happen to me.
Anyway, I need to find a job, but can barely walk outside at times if it’s to hot/humid. How do you guys hold jobs? What do you guys do for work? Any insight is welcome.
Thanks,
Patrick

I am very sorry about your hives, and I am having the same problem as you.
But for me I started working online as a free lancer and blogger since I can’t get out of home, but yet still working and didn’t finish (don’t know If I am going to succeed or not)
But I have no other choice.
I hope that’s help…
Stay strong 🙂

Hey.. I am from Saudi Arabia and my brother and sisters are Americans and I do study in Michigan.
I got CU 2 years ago when I was at home but at first it wasn’t too bad. When I moved to Michigan last year it got a lot worse! Now I feel itchy whenever I do a physical effort.. even going out for a walk will make me feel itchy. I highly recommend that you do not get a job until you feel better. If you must get a job then try to get one from home so that you do not do any physical effort.
In the end it’s you’re decision, but personally I would do ANYTHING to avoid these itches because it’s the worse feeling in the world. Even if I hated someone so much and I wanted him dead I wouldn’t want him to experience this pain.

Hello, Patrick.
Sorry to hear of your suffering. It can be very difficult working while dealing with a persistent case of cholinergic urticaria. First, I’d just like to encourage you to continue trying to find a treatment regimen that can help you minimize or eliminate symptoms. It can be difficult and take time, but there are many ways to treat this disorder. So keep fighting and know that you don’t necessarily have to plan your entire life around your hives. You can beat them in time.
Neverthless, I do know that it can be difficult holding down certain jobs while your physical symptoms are severe. For now, you might consider working in an office setting with an air conditioner. You’re also young, and you could also focus on school–even taking online classes if necessary.
I’d try to avoid anything that requires physical labor or extensive outdoor activity for the short-term until you get your hives under control.
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but when I got hives it really forced me to think outside of the box. I had to learn to make money any way I could. I’ve done it all–sold stuff on eBay, developed websites, freelance writing, etc.
I pray your hives improve soon.
