I’ve been suffering from anxiety/heat hives since I had a miscarriage in March. I have always had anxiety disorder and anhidrosis. I kept checking into urgent cares and ERs, and every day I still get painful, itchy hives. I stopped drinking alcohol and would keep getting outbreaks but they lessened somewhat.
Mine have no very specific food or drink rhyme or reason. Taking a benzo during a really large panic attack would help. Antihistamines don’t seem to.
In any case, I woke up in the middle of the night, overheated and panicking. My face was swollen shut and my upper lip extended 3 inches forward. I couldn’t breathe. I don’t have anything but catastrophic insurance so this also adds to my fear and stress.
My friend made me go to the hospital. I had to get epinephrine and steroids and antibiotics for an ear issue as well.
I still got the rash and I’m still swollen. This all started with the hormone imbalance from getting pregnant, it feels. I thought the rash was a symptom of the pregnancy but now that I haven’t been pregnant for over 7 months, and reading all the info in the book and on the sites and watching the video, I at least feel like I finally have a step forward towards what to seek out next.
Instead of ignoring it, however, the now upgrading of this condition to include anaphylaxis is worrying me. In March, I went to the ER presenting these symptoms as well and got treated with the same stuff as well.
I am wondering if anyone else here has presented with such a severe reaction? I am going to start to change my diet this week and see about other insurance (but dire financial issues are a catch-22 to treating this, it feels).
Glad but worried, and looking for any insight anyone may have.
