Hello there, I’ll try and make this short. I’ve only recently been diagnosed with cholinergic urticaria, but believe I’ve had it majority of my life, believing my symptoms where involved with my eczema diagnosis. Before figuring out it was CU, I went through many different doctors and tried many different things: allergy testing (which was very informative) as well as multiple medications, sweat therapy, allergy shots, even being suggested to move to more humid (and colder) climates.
I lived in Wyoming my whole life and have been in Phoenix for 6 years, so I’ve tried all that. Sweat therapy is awful for me. It seems like a go-to for many here on this page. I recently was put on a medication called dupixent. Has anyone had experience with it? Just curious if I’ll be able to get back into an active lifestyle again after it kicks in (3-4 months).
Not only do I have eczema and cholinergic urticaria, but I also have an allergy to the salt that is in my sweat and tears. Is there anyone who is also experiencing with this? This website has been great and very informative, but still looking for more as to how to manage all three and have a “normal” life.
Any information would be great. Thanks for looking.

Hi Kari,
I had both cholinergic urticaria and eczema like you, and I know the great difficulty that goes with trying to over come both but it is possible, sweat therapy was hard at first for me but the more I did it the less pain there was, don’t give up! 🙂

There is a site that claims salt is the culprit and to cut it out or way down. I am going to try this and let you all know

I have had hives since I was a kid but they were infrequent. As an adult they just got worse and worse and now I have them nearly daily. All the things that once worked (daily Zyrtec, Benadryl) are no longer working. I went to an allergy specialist and we are trying Cromolyn Sodium which is helping some but I’m still itchy just a 1-2 vs. 6-8 on a 1-10 scale. I developed eczema on my hand just in the last 5 or so years. I’m 52 yr old and am at my wits end – I don’t care if I ever figure out the cause, I juts want a solution. My hives do not manifest into bumps or anything.

Hey everyone…. I am 36 yrs old and 6 yrs ago one fine day I had something like allergy.. . I took anti allergic and it was gone.. But since then I had these hives almost everyday.. I realized only 2 yrs also that I had this problem only after doing some physical activity. Six months ago we got posted to a place which had very hot weather.. And my whole body used to sweat heavily.. My allergy was completely gone.. I used to walk 5 km. . With no allergic reaction at all. . We stayed in that place for a month and then got posted to a place with moderate temperature.. Now after 4 months the allergy is back.. I have stopped sweating again.. Severe outbreak of hives.. Itchy. . Pin prick feeling … Body not cooling down.. Been three days… No anti allergic working .. Hoping for the best
