I thought that I had cholinergic urticaria because I had the terrible incurable itchiness and pain on my head back and chest when I sweated, or even just got nervous or stressed. It was miserable. I also got very red when I had my breakouts.
The only thing I didn’t get was this big bumps, I got small ones sometimes, however. I recently found out it wasn’t cholinergic urticaria. It was actually just a histamine issue where my body releases too much histamine. My doctor told me to get an over the counter medication called Sudafed (typically used as a nasal decongestant).
I take 60 mg about an hour before I do any physical activity, and I am no longer dealing with the pain that was terribly unbearable. Sorry for the rant and sorry if this doesn’t apply to you. Just wanted to share my experience because if it helped me I hope it could help other people.
Thanks,
Nate

How did the doctor explain prescribing a decongestant and not an antihistamine for a histamine issue?? How would the Sudafed work?

What test was done to label it as not urticaria and just a histamine issue? I thought if you had urticaria it was also histamine related.
