I have always had a slight problem with eczema, for many years it has been dormant mainly with only a few flare ups in hotter weather. Yet today I had a massive and to me unknown reaction (to what I could not say). However after going through many sites to try to find what my symptoms could be related to, this wonderful site shed some much need light on my predicament.
At first I started to get massive cramps in my stomach followed by a red flush that started in my face and then spread throughout the upper half of my body. I then began to itch uncontrollably around my neck scalp and mainly back/chest. Literally to the point where I wanted to rip my skin off my body. This was followed by a massive heating on my back like I was laying in direct sunlight and suffering from sunburn.
All through this I was feeling slightly disoriented and could not think straight. All of this lasted around 15-20min, I used an emollient cream (diprobase) to sooth the itching which worked in part. Obviously this had me very worried as i had never experienced anything like it before despite having skin conditions and other allergies.
So a massive thanks to the wonderful articles in this site which not only helped me to recognize what this was but ways to treat it. I found the emollient cream and sitting in front of a very cold fan helped to bring the symptoms to heel.
