Hi all,
I have suffered from what I will refer to as “the itch” for about 2-3 months now. I don’t believe the itch is cholinergic urticaria because I get no rashes or visible spots on my body whatsoever. I believe the cause of this issue is mainly psychological. For example, if I think about it, that will trigger it more frequently. However, the main triggers are hot environments and when I feel stressed, whether that is emotionally or physically.
The itch is very interesting. After dealing with it for 2-3 months, I’ve noticed when it arises and when it does not. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s due to my body attempting to sweat in stressful situations, but I simply cannot because my body temperature is not at that point. It is as if my body is right in between actually sweating versus feeling very hot. Being in between this point causes me to itch incredibly and is amplified the more I think about it.
This led me to sweat therapy. I needed a reliable way to sweat daily. You can try to get it done by exercising or sitting outside on a hot day, but these are too inconsistent. You can also go to a sauna everyday, but this is too expensive. The solution? Purchase a portable sauna. You can buy it on Amazon for $110, which is not bad. If you need the money then speak to your parents or relatives and explain what you are going through.
This portable sauna has done the job well for me. Before I use it I dry brush my skin and sit in the sauna. I fill it up with distilled water so I can breathe in clean steam. Once I’m in the sauna I start sweating incredibly. Then I basically let out all the stress I feel and try to force out the itch as much as possible. My body then starts to sweat even more.
At this point I can barely feel the itch, only very slightly but for the most part it is eliminated. After I leave the sauna I feel fantastic. My body feels all around warm and I have yet to run into the itch. I have only used the sauna once so far but I plan to use it daily for a few months and see what happens. Also, I plan to fill it with some essential oils like eucalyptus which is very soothing to breath in.
I’ll be using the sauna daily in the morning before I shower and go to work. I will keep this up for a month and then report back with results. So far after just one use though I feel fantastic and the itch is at bay.

Hi all, I am the original poster. So the portable sauna did not work for me. I ended up returning it
I’m back to trying anti histamines again. Have started Allegra 180mg every morning. Will continue it for a week and see what happens. If still no relief will try Zyrtec two 10mg every morning. Would rather not go to the doctor because I predict they will order all kinds of labs and in the end find nothing abnormal. Already went to urgent care and spent $100 just to be told that they can’t do anything for me and they referred me to a neurologist and my primary care doctor
Neurologist visit will probably be several hundreds of dollars and in the end after running tons of tests I feel they will just say “sorry but all your tests are normal, we’re not sure what we can do now”
Good luck to the rest of the folks out there!

Thank you for checking back after a month. I also don’t have any noticeable rashes or spots on my body and suffer in hot or stressful environments. Good luck, to you in the future!
