Hello everyone.
I have been suffering from cholinergic urticaria for years now, and this summer it has taken a turn for the worse. My symptoms have become worse (more hives, itching, wheezing), and I have a breakout at least once an hour every single day.
As soon as my body gets a bit warm/hot, I immediately break out. This is really affecting me physically and emotionally. I’ve tried many things like special diets, working out, sweat therapy, but nothing seems to help. Medication helps slightly but not that much. I try to stay as cool as possible, but there’s a limit to that. I also have other allergies which compounds the problem for me.
What do I do? I’m extremely lost and pretty stressed/unhappy, and I want to somehow fix my problem but I know it won’t be easy.

There is a Dr. in NC that does phone consultations. He is an MD, but takes a natural approach to health issues. He is a good listener, and his advice is outstanding. I’ve referred many people to him, and they all felt as I do. He puts you on a special diet that is very specific. His name is Dr. Phillip Collins. His number is 828-656-2897. An hour long consultation is $60. You can ask him anything you want during that hour. I’ve always gotten wonderful help there. He will often suggest certain supplements that are available most anywhere.

Hi I had the exact same problem! Staying calm didn’t always work as I would break out when I got nervous or the slightest bit emotional, I found working out and forcing myself to sweat everyday helped me!

Hi. First I’m sorry you are going through this. Don’t give up. CU can be overwhelming as there is not an area of a person’s life that it doesn’t touch and most people who haven’t it experienced it personally can’t relate or fully grasp how it affects ones life. I know you mentioned you have tried special diets. But have you tried a full on elimination diet that you were 100% committed to for at least 8 weeks? Because there is no one cause for everyone’s symptoms you have to try and figure yours out through process of elimination and I recommend starting with your food/drink intake. This can be extremely difficult as food/drink can be comforting, especially when we are afflicted both physically and mentally. This is made even harder when we don’t see results right away and we are eating foods that maybe we don’t even like. But stopping the attacks or at least managing CU is worth it. Try the diet in the book on this site. And don’t be discouraged if you don’t see immediate results. Also in the meantime make sure you are prepared as much as possible to counter these attacks. I use to carry a backpack or ice chest with me everywhere I went. I slept on an air mattress because they don’t trap heat like a normal mattress, etc. Lastly, but most importantly, pray, and I say this with love, pray to Jesus (John 14:6). I will be praying for you.
