Hey everyone.
I just wanted to start off by saying I am utterly heartbroken with stories I’ve read with people who have been suffering from urticaria. Heartbroken because that’s how I feel with myself. I am suffering urticaria as well. I also want to give out some good energy to everyone too because sometimes I feel like just having wishful thinking keeps me going.
I hope one day there comes a cure for this. I am here to share my story to help me release sadness from myself and to possibly help people.
I’ve been suffering from severe urticaria for about a year and a half now. However, thinking about my life I’ve been suffering from this since I was 14 – I just never realized it and it was minor then. I’m 25 years old now and it’s become a major struggle.
I’ve experienced about 7-8 anaphylactic shocks based on my urticaria. All heat induced. It varies from exercise, hot showers, and hot weather. I’ve been diligent with the temperature of my showers and how hard I am exercising, but I can’t control how hot the day is going to be.
I’m currently on vacation in Dominican and unfortunately experienced anaphylactic shock because of the heat. This incident prompted me to write my story because I felt a pivotal change in hiding my condition to finally accepting that I suffer from urticaria. It sucks. It really does. I used to be a very adventurous person but now I can’t even leave the room because I’m scared that every time I sweat I’m going to die. It’s the worst feeling.
I’ve been to dermatologist and allergist and I’ve been prescribed blexten for the hives but it doesn’t stop the anaphylactic shocks. Also because of my urticaria I’ve developed severe eczema that have lowered my self-confidence.
Does anyone here suffer from anaphylactic shock almost every they sweat? Please let me know if there is anything that works.
I hope one day I can find a controlled routine with my condition.
Thanks for listening and letting me vent. I hope this will help me be in a better mood. I will try to enjoy the rest of my vacation.
Stay safe everyone and hope you guys stay strong. It can be very hard too, but honestly, we are one of the strongest people out here.
Best regards,
Hannah
