Hi! Just found this website, and I pray to God that someone might be able to give me some insight into what in my life might be causing me to have these reactions(stinging, red spots).
I am a 25-year-old man from Norway, and I have an appointment with a skin doctor on May 11th. But I thought I would explore this forum and try to find some answers for myself before that.
So this whole thing began (I think) back in the summer of 2015. Me and my girlfriend were on vacation in Turkey at the time, and the 2nd day of our trip we went on this boat trip. And as some of you might know, the sun in Turkey compared to Norway is like multiplied by ten. So we were out on this boat trip the whole day, sitting there in the burning sun with some low sun factor sunscreen and naturally the next day woke up with some nasty sunburns. It was at this time I began feeling this severe stinging sensation throughout my body, and sat in front of the AC most of the time the rest of the week. When we got home it was gone.
Then sometime during the fall of 2016 it started again. But this time I just felt the stinging sensation mostly on my feet while driving or sitting on my desk on my computer. This went on for most of the fall, until around December came along. On December 4th I quit smoking and started vaping to help me stay off the cigarettes.
It was around this time that things really got to a whole new level. I began feeling this stinging sensation throughout my body again, mostly on my head, torso and back, but also my butt and thighs. I also got these red spots on my body. Some were on my neck and face, but most of them were on my torso and back. And its been like this till now.
So do any of you have any suggestions to what might be causing this to come back and stay permanently? This has been affecting my life so much. I can’t work out anymore, I can’t walk through the mall without suddenly feeling warm and have an “outbreak.” I wake up in the middle of the night warm and have an “outbreak” and so forth.
Sorry for any bad grammar and/or spelling. Anything you might suggest could help me!

Hello, Eirik. Sorry to hear of your struggles. It could be cholinergic urticaria if the stinging, itching, and hives come out whenever you become hot (active or passive heating). Your doctor might be able to confirm the diagnosis for you if he or she is familiar with this condition.

I’m feeling pretty certain that this is Cholinergic Urticaria, cause every time I read about someones experiences with it, it’s like I wrote it myself. Do you think the fact that I began vaping might’ve been the trigger? Or that I quit smoking, though I don’t see why that would be the case, but you never know.

IT’s a good time to just adapt a healthy lifestyle. Go natural and try to let your body heal itself. In my experience, the meds just make this worse and it will be hard to identify the triggers while on them.

Thank you for your response HivingInCali (to you as well Hivesguy, forgot to mention that in my earlier response to you)
I agree. I’m definitely going to try to fix this the natural way. It’s like you mentioned, a perfect time to start a new and healthy lifestyle, which will benefit me in several different ways regardless. But I’m not sure what kind of diet to try, or what kinds of foods to avoid and vice versa. I’m gonna have to explore and do some research on that.

You can look up the elimination diet and start there.
Also watch fat sick and nearly dead on Netflix. Not saying you should juice ur way to the cure but its cool to watch
