also, i never though i would ever say this but in a way i am kind of glad i have problems with my skin because i would have never discovered meditation and yoga, i think i have definetely become a more enlightened person because of this. ONe link that is think everyone should go to is samsara which translates to the wheel of suffering.
If you can overcome desire or attachment, hatred or aversion, and ignorance then you will be free from suffering

Ten Rules for Being Human
Posted 1 week ago 1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.”
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.
6. “There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life’s questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all this.

Title: Breathe, Talk To Yourself, Be Positive When Suffering With Cholinergic Urticaria

YOURSELF!!!
Yes! Talk to yourself. Don’t worry, you’ll probably listen! LoL!!!! 😀 ;D 😉
That could be a good thing or a bad thing. Just kidding…
Whenever I get stressed or feel like my hives are kickin it in gear….almost like they are getting ready backstage and gonna come out right now and say, “TA-DAHHH!!!”
I tell myself this…
“I am healthy, happy, and a wonderful person.”
It has helped me in a few cases. I guess it’s a kind of relax therapy if you will. I remind myself that I honestly try to be a good person and I love people, and feel that the feelings are usually mutual.
THEREFORE…
I should relax and carry on my day/night and enjoy the world as is.
Hives. What hives? What’s a hive? Who has hives? Not me!

Funny post!
I find myself having dialogue in my head all day. I pray a lot too sometimes. I also talk to my wife about my hopes/dreams/failures, etc. on a daily basis. It helps tremendously. In fact, reading the bible and praying takes a lot of stress and anxiety away.

Same here!
I usually get very aggressive with mine. Challenging it verbaly weirdly enough. Someone actually overheard me one time… oh boy did the hives flare up then.
Things I usually say:
“Stop trying to hit me, and hit me!”
“Is that all you got? BAH!”
“You’re getting softer I see”
Sadly none of these will keep it off. It will only make me more pyschologicly prepared.

Title: Hot Bikram Yoga Experience

Hello friends!
Okay well, it has been quite awhile since my last post. Winter was okay for me as well as part of Spring. Out here in CA, it has started to warm up but I’ve noticed that my Cholinergic Urticaria has gotten better! I have avoided working out and unfortunately gained almost 15lbs since last year. Oh it has been disheartening. Fortunately, it isn’t hard for my body to loose weight so it should be back to what it was by the end of the Summer for sure! 🙂 Anyways, I have noticed that my body can actually take heat! Can you believe that? What I have noticed is that if my body gradually heats up it is okay, but it must gradually cool down as well. I noticed this when I went to a Birkram Yoga class.
I went to a local yoga studio where the temperature is around 100 degrees or a little more inside the room. Everyone sweats. I took the classes before the Cholinergic Urticaria and it was amazing and felt so relaxed. It helps allow your muscles to stretch a little bit more than usual because they are warmed. It is also said that it helps release your body’s toxins that need to be released. Why would I want to take this class with Cholinergic Urticaria? I don’t really know. I just felt I needed to try it. I was tired of feeling all plumpy and not toned as I was before the Cholinergic Urticaria and pregnancy.
Knowing that my hives disappear far more quickly after taking a shower I decided to take one before class. Sometimes I feel that my skin is more apt for hives if I didn’t shower within a few hours of doing an activity. Not sure if it is true or not, but decided to see if it would help.
So I went to the studio, many of the regulars dressed in tank tops, sports bras, and shorts. I was the only one in long sweats and a zip up jacket with a tank top. The room was pretty warm. I concentrated on my breathing as the teacher instructed and most of all I just tried to relax and meditate on releasing toxins and negative emotions I know I’ve had suppressed. I stretched and stretched and began to sweat. I was a bit nervous but kept on. I started to check for my hives and found nothing. I started to become a little pink but very very little. I kept breathing in sync with the exercise. I was good. By the end of the class (90) mins I had taken off my jacket to just wearing my tank top and pants. NO HIVES!
I was happy. I almost started crying! Was I cured? Was I just in remission? I told the people at the front desk about my recent accomplishment of sweating and how proud I was not to break out. Dancing around in the lobby I felt great and called my mother to tell her the good news. Then I went outside…it was dark outside and actually very chilly. I STARTED TO ITCH! “Oh no!” I started blotching up quick. My whole body became inflamed with pink and white bumpy welts! I started shaking from the needle like pain and felt so bad.
The manager of the shop asked me if I was okay and I, very angry said “NO!”
I went home.
After being devastated for a couple of hours, I decided that sweating was still a success and figured that it was the shock of the cold air against my warm skin put it in a frenzy. I got sick the next day, really sick. I was draining and had gained a respiratory infection. Miserable with an awful cold I was determined to get over this. I was unable to finish my introductory week at the studio, I decided to go all out and purchase a one year membership at the gym.
To make a long story a bit shorter…
I worked out at the gym by stretching first and then slowly increased the intensity and felt great. I still wore a jacket but felt great. I did get pink but made sure I didn’t submerge myself into a fan and did remarkably great! I ran, did ab work, lifted weights, you name it! Overall, I worked out for about 3 hours!!!! YES!
So…just saying, this was my experience with Cholinergic Urticaria? What about you? 🙂

Hi guys, my name is Danny and I have Cholinergic Urticaria.
I know how hard it can be to live with – both the physical and emotional sides of it. But I would like you to know that there is always hope! I believe in the power of prayer and a loving God, who’s will in our lives is not to suffer with this condition but to live a life full of hope and joy!
I would like to pray for anyone who wants it. Just reply to this and tell me your name and I’ll pray for you until you are healed and well. I’m believing for you and me to be healed asap!

@ VIP
According to wikipedia, it says this guy never said that, and it is a common misquotation. I know wiki isn’t the best source, but still–just thought I’d throw that out there.
@DannyG,
I appreciate your post and I always welcome prayers for me, and also for others on this forum (and the forum itself). I was coming out of atheism when I started this website, very cynical, and not very happy with life (Cholinergic Urticaria was one reason, among many others). Words cannot express the joy and peace that I have discovered since turning my life over to God. It has radically shaped my life and my wife’s life for the better (and is continually changing me).
Praying for my hives and reading scripture was one of the things that helped me get through this in the past 2 years.
In fact, in a weird way, I owe a lot to Cholinergic Urticaria. I honestly don’t think I would have sought out God if I didn’t have a total physical breakdown with this condition.
