I have had this condition now for about 35 years. I have told every doctor that I’ve had over the years that I have this condition and have received no help at all. I finally read about it online, and now I take an antihistamine when I get really chilled.
I used to have the hives with terrible itching, and now the areas turn red with severe itching. I would like to share my experience as I have never met anyone with chronic cold urticaria.
Thanks,
Lynn

Lynn,
Thanks for taking the time to share your story and struggles. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve struggled with cold urticaria for 35 years! Wow. I’m also sorry to hear that doctors haven’t been able to help you during all that time.
There are a few people that read this site that have commented about having cold urticaria (some even have both cholinergic urticaria AND cold urticaria!). Hopefully they’ll see your post and know that they aren’t alone.
I really appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with others, and I’m sure other readers appreciate it too.
God bless,
Ben

Hi Lyn.. I am ,as well, sorry that you’ve dealt with this condition for soo long. I’ve had Chronic Hives for about 2 months. Today I recieved my first dosage of Xolair. It’s an asthma med (shot) administered by an allergy doctor, that is used for hives. Your insurance has to approve it and it’s very expensive $1,000.. The most you will pay is 100..You don’t have to live in agony and discomfort . There is help for this condition. Also I recommend this cream called Emuaid. You can only buy it on line. This is a miracle cream for chronic hives. It doesn’t cure hives but it gives sooooo much comfort ,until you can get to the doctor. And when we itch.. Comfort is all were seeking.
Praying you get well soon,
Jann

Yes, Lynn, I am one of the unfortunate ones with exercise induced, heat induced, AND cold urticaria. What a nightmare. We noticed my sister broke out 40 yrs ago to cold, but I only recently developed this all at once. The doctors don’t care/and or have no ability to look for the cause.
