Need Suggestions/Advice for Heat Hives

July 28, 2017 by Forum Member

I’ve had cholinergic urticaria for 8 years. I did allergy testing, food intolerance testing, all that, which nearly killed me!

After a year of benadryl and hospital visits, I found two medications that helped! For years, Singulair + xyzal suppressed the heat activated hives for about 6 years. But why is this happening to me?

Shortly after 6 years I guess I grew immune to my medications and they no longer suppress the hives. But, without the medicines, it is out of control, and I start to go into anaphylaxis. I have a healthy diet and make fresh juice every day, blood work is great. I research every for years what to do.

Then, I added Pepcid ac to my two medications, and it suppresses the hives- but it gives me headaches and makes me tired! Also, I don’t have heartburn and don’t think it’s a great idea to destroy my stomach acid to suppress hives.

What should I do now? Note: I also have tinnitus.

I’m been dealing with this for 4 years. I’ve been in a slew of meds, just started XOLAIR and it’s working, but I I do still get break outs, mostly when it’s humid. So…… I tried to find a topical relief, and I did find something that’s works. Invisible zinc and aloe, takes away the itch, burning and stinging.

    Hope this helps

Try using a sauna, if sweat therapy is safe for you (talk to your doctor). That worked for me. I suggest going to a public sauna first.
You need to force the sweat out and make your body adjusts to sweating.
You might feel pain, but eventually you’ll sweat and when that happens it should stop.

If it this works for you, I suggest buying a portable sauna and using it daily when you wake up.
You can find these portable saunas on Amazon. Just make sure they’re infrared and not steam.
There is this sauna called “Relax Sauna” on Amazon. It’s very hot and it’ll drop every sweat out of your body. It works perfectly for me. This sauna is expensive. If you can’t afford it, there are cheaper portable sauna’s that get the job done as well.

Cheaper portable sauna’s are not as hot though, you might feel pain when you use them before sweating.
