Scabies seems to have triggered my Cholinergic Urticaria

July 5, 2015 by Forum Member

I became symptomatic with scabies in February of this year. I had a moderate case treated with Permetherin and then got it again and had to repeat the process. Mainly affected hands, inside arms and tops of feet. I know it takes a long time to get rid of the scabie debris through it coming out or absorption but I finally reached the point where I was no longer having the itching attacks and black specs associated with this.

Since my scabies I am even more sensitive to heat than I had been before. Any type of body temperature rise sets off stinging itchy rashes/hives. I know it is not scabies because there are no lines in my skin from burrows.

I have a history of easy dehydration, not sweating much, and heat exhaustion since high school. It seems my internal thermostat is always set to “hot” when my temperature will be 97.3 – normal for me. I have always felt best in cold water, eating cold food and in a cool environment. I love the feel of wind. Jewelry and tight clothing makes me terribly warm.

Has anyone else experienced an increase in symptoms after having scabies? I also have a dust mite and slight wheat allergy and a history of RA, fibromyalgia, kidney stone disease, high blood pressure and hypothyroidism. I am moderately overweight and live in hot humid Houston, TX.

My second question relates to clothing, products etc. I would appreciate any advice as I am tired of these rashes and being hot constantly. I am 50 and menopause isn’t a factor (yet)

Thanks!
Elle
