Some Relief Found for Hives

May 2, 2017 by Forum Member

Thanks so much for this site!

About two years ago I moved from Washington state to Palm Springs, CA. About a year later, I developed hives. This has mainly been an itchy sunburn looking rash. Sometimes is gets thick and raised in appearance. I itched constantly.

I found this site and tried using the Dove sensitive skin soap. I also eliminated all my supplements (except for a multivitamin and calcium). I also noted the diet recommended was close to Paleo, so I’ve tried that.

For the past two weeks, I have been itch-free!!! Hopefully, my luck will continue. I’ve tried to schedule appointments with two allergists here (as I had horrible allergies in WA). To date, they both have stonewalled me and won’t schedule an appointment–even with a referral from my dermatologist.

However, I constantly read that allergists have not been helpful in finding an answer. Hopefully, my diet and product changes will continue to help. Thanks so much for this site and all the information you provide!!!!

I developed this last June at age 64. Aside from being overweight, I am in good health and take no meds. I think this is an allergy to a food supplement that we are getting in processed foods. Which is why the Paleo diet seems to improve the hives. I’m banking on one of the new MSG replacements or the amount of Niacin and Niaminamide – which is too much B3.
