VNUS vein closure procedure for hives?

Post by: K236841 on January 13, 2011, 01:53:52 PM

Has anyone heard of the VNUS vein closure procedure? I know I read some where that Cholinergic Urticaria is cause by veins leaking histamine and this procedure is said to stop vein valve leakage. I know my Cholinergic Urticaria symptoms first appeared in the winter of 08, during which time I was taking antihistamines and doing some heavy (or more than I’m used to) weightlifting. That combined with my diet, I’m thinking may have caused my Cholinergic Urticaria.

I haven’t really investigated this very thouroghly, but it all seems to add up in my head.

I just wanted to get this out there and say hi to everyone and see how you all were doing, its been a while since I’ve been on.. and again I would like to thank everyone for their posts. This Forum was a great idea and it helps to know that I’m not alone in this. Thanks guys 😀

I would think though that you’d have some very outward signs were your veins bulge out.

Thanks for the interesting post K236841,

Its great to hear from you. Thanks for dropping in to post.

It is interesting about the veins “leaking.” I am not sure if it is the leaking veins themselves that cause our hives, or if it is just a normal reaction to the allergen (as the veins do leak with histamine release). Either way, it is interesting to consider your idea.

My only question is, we have so many veins, arteries, capillaries, etc. in our body, so would it be possible/practical to do some treatment on them all? That is the first question I would have. And if it was practical, would it actually help Cholinergic Urticaria is the second question.

If you find out any more info about this, by all means let us know. Thanks again for posting, and I hope you hives get and stay under control.
