Attending Indoor Concerts with Cholinergic Urticaria

March 2, 2018 by Forum Member

So, for my birthday, I got tickets to Metallica for when they come to my town in this winter. My question is how hot does an indoor concert get?

Are there areas of the arena that get more hot than other parts?

The arena is around 13-14 thousand people, I think. Are there any steps that I should take ahead of time for my cholinergic urticaria?

Thanks,

-K

Sweat therapy before you go, if it’s safe for you.

In any concert, you will sweat crazy. This may sound gross, but everyone around you will be sweating and the whole area will feel humid. So more than for sure you will get a reaction, try sweating days before going. Take antihistamines or other medications. Good luck!

Hey! I’m a concert/music fanatic and suffering from CU has never stopped me from attending concerts! The concert venue near me is the Manchester arena – that holds roughly 21,000. It ultimately depends. When I saw John Mayer and Lady Antebellum, everyone sat down and I didn’t have a reaction. Whereas when I last went to a concert and saw The Killers, everyone was jumping around (including me) and that’s where it can get a bit problematic.

I’m assuming with Metallica that things could get a bit hot and sweaty in there. This can excaberated with alcohol so maybe watch your intake. Most concert venues offer free water (tap) and you can also request ice if that helps you a little.

    Enjoy your concert!!
