Hi! I’m writing here because I suffer from cholinergic urticaria, which develops in the summer when my skin is hot, when I swim in the beach, or when I play sports.
My allergist talked me about Bilastine, which is an antihistamine. So far it’s really working!! Have some of you tried it?
I encourage you to talk to your doctor about it, too!
P.S. Sorry for my English…it’s not my mother tongue.

Anna,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share that with everyone on the forum. I’m glad this medication is working so far, and I hope it continues to provide you with relief.
God bless!

Dear Ben
I just bought and read your book and cried- my son has struggled with this while I have taken him to multiple doctors most of whom did not take it seriously and others who do not acknowledge how debilitating the symptoms are- I woukd appreciate the opportunity to email or direct message you- is this possible?
Thank you

Yes… I know what you mean, all of us are diferent but I posted because bilastine is a relatively new antihistaminic and at the moment I haven’t experienced unpleasant secondary effects as when I take atarax (hydroxyzine). Bilastine is only approved in Europe (I am from Barcelona, Spain) and I think that also in Canada, I don’t know where are you from. Here you have more information: wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilastine. I hope that would be useful for you.

I can’t belive it. I changed dermatologist and he told me to take bilastine 20mg! I’m from Italy but I’m scared why fda didn’t approve it! Do you know why? Anyway I’ll take it for 14 days than I’ll do challenge test running on treadmill and we’ll see.

:O!!!!! Really???? I hope your hives disappear with bilastine like mine! I’ve been reading about the us approval of bilastine and the reason may be the interests of pharmaceutical companies: http://www.drugs.com/nda/bilastine_080114.html
Tomorrow I’m going to my allergist again, I’ll ask her.
Please let me know if it’s working 🙂

That is great! Have you started back sweating as well?

Here, in Barcelona, the weather now is very hot and last day I went running I felt really scared (before discovering bilastine). This weekend I started walking and running again at 12pm, 26 degrees Celsius and…no hives and no breath sounds 🙂 and I obviously sweated!!
