Can weight loss help cholinergic urticaria?

January 9, 2017 by Forum Member

I’m 29. I’ve been overweight since age of 10 and developed heat hives around age 17. I also suffer from excessive sweating disorder (hyperhidrosis). My generations of family and I are originally from a region that’s usually hot (35 to 40 deg Celsius average in summer) and both my parents have only hyperhidrosis in a moderate way.

I had to move to a colder region of the world to be able to live a normal life. It has been quite alright so far for my hyerhidrosis condition, but I don’t know what is in the climate up here, the heat hives are going bonkers. I have to walk slow, I can’t exercise. I feel very good outside because it’s usually windy and cold, but when I enter a building with heaters all fired up inside, the heat hives just fk me up all the way.

Being overweight by 20 KG and with a fat percentage of 33%, should a weight loss be a good way to see if it can cure my condition of cholinergic urticaria? I am ready to follow an intense diet to lose weight if it’s going to make me normal.

Thanks,

Vin

Some people have reported that their hives decreased in intensity after losing weight. I’d say that it is always a good idea to maintain a healthy weight. Furthermore, many people have been able to reduce or eliminate their hives by removing food allergens and modifying their diet.
