I believe I found the cause of my hives (candida)

March 12, 2018 by Forum Member

I’m 16 years old and I’ve had hives for a few years now. I discovered that I had them around 13 years old. I was in a gym class, and as I was working out, I started to feel them on my legs.

Later that day, in a classroom, I started to feel them on my arms, but I just ignored them. After a few months, it has gotten worse, and the pain got really intense. I couldn’t take the pain. Sometimes I’d have to excuse myself from other people to be by myself because of how severe the pain was.

Hives has really changed my life. I used to love going out with friends and family. Now, it’s just hard for me to have a conversation. After a little research, I found out that I might have an overgrowth of yeast in my stomach, and the overgrowth feeds off of sugar.

I started a diet (no yeast and sugar). I dieted for about 3 weeks, and my hives have lessened by a lot. It’s not even as painful anymore. I’m thinking that if I get rid of the overgrowth the hives would disappear. I was able to sit outside on a sunny day with no hives, and it was amazing.

My hives aren’t gone, but they have calmed down a bit. Maybe if I stick to this diet it will go away. Candida (yeast overgrowth) can actually cause hives.

Thanks,

HiveFighter

Thank you for sharing your story! I’m taking a similar approach, but I’ve just started. I see some improvement already, but still a trip ahead.

I thought it was candida but then i realised I don’t have any symptoms of candida and i have no sugar cravings whatsoever. Do you have any other symptoms related to candida? Most people with leaky gut dont experience hives.

Yeah, I experience mood swings, lack of fatigue, and I’m tired literally all the time. My hives are getting better and better.

Candida yeast overrun is what the dermatologists have told me, too. I tried taking coconut oil for about 6 months, but it did not help the CU. I’ve tried every probiotic out there. Didn’t cure it. I even went to an old Indian doctor who reads your eyes and she too said I was loaded with candida. She gave me several pills and I took them for 2 months and it did not cure the CU. I’m 66 and this just stated about 20 months ago. I’ve started drinking Turpur hydrogen water. I’m hoping that will help some. Coconut oil is supposed to be very good in fighting yeast ( do some research yourself), but let me caution you- start off with small amounts. Take one capsule, not 3 or 4. You get fast yeast die-off and your body starts throwing antibodies at the dead yeast in your bloodstream. You will feel like you have a bad case of the flu for 3 or 4 days – fever, body aches, weakness. If you start off small and work up to 3 or 4 capsules, you will be fine. Good luck to you.

Debby, in addition to the book listed on this site, I recommend this one “Beyond Candida” by MD and PhD Keith Scott-Mumby.
