Hello everyone,
I just had this question in mind and I wanted to see If it has anything to do with cholinergic urticaria.
My Grandpa (from my mother’s side) got this cholinergic urticaria after he moved from an apartment to another at different neighborhood (the apartment was empty for a while before he moved it). Also my mother Got CU after she moved from her parents house to her current house (and also the apartment was empty for long time before she moved it), and I got CU after I moved from my current apartment to another one (that was empty too for sometime before I moved in).
I know this sound stupid, but does this CU Has something to do with moving from a place to another ? Or it has something to do with moving to a place that was closed for a while and no people were living in it ?
Any one of you develop cholinergic urticarial after moving from a place to another ?
I hope you share your experiences …
Thanks in advance,
Ahmed

I am very sorry about your son 🙁 it’s really hard to have this CU, I don’t know why do I feel that there is a connection between moving from a place to another with this condition !
I don’t know if it’s the water or the air or ( the long time closed places grows bacteria or something that hit the next one who lives in that place ) !
I really can’t figure this out …
Anyway … I hope your son gets better, and try to make him avoid spicy food or get nervous , things that causes sweating, or scratching anything to his skin … and If he has to go somewhere out of home, he should take a shower just before going out, it will delay the next hive attack.

Well, I used to live in the middle east all my life and I got CU when I was still there then I moved to Michigan and it got worse. When I got to Michigan first I was staying at a hotel and the hives were less severe I don’t know why but I guess because the quality of the water is better there??? Anyway when I moved to an apartment I felt that my condition got back to how it was before. From my experience it doesn’t matter if you move to a different location you will still get hives no matter where you go but it might only be less severe depending on the environment.

I didn’t move when I initially got CU. It did get worse when I moved a few years later in my first apartment (it was only about 20 miles from where I lived previously), which I suspect was mostly due to the insanely nasty/hard water that we had. It does seem that many people have either remissions or relapses when moving. It could be due to the climate/humidity levels, water, stress, bacteria in foods, or any number of issues. It’s hard to say, really.

I am 24 and just found out I had CU, after having symptoms for about 4 months. I’m Not sure what triggered it but 5 months ago I moved from Missouri to Texas and BAM! I am scheduled to see a allergen expert soon. I think there are to many factors to consider like climate, elevation, humidity, air quality, water quality, just to name a few.

I got it after i moved. Never had a problem, not until I relocated. Very interesting.
