I have suffered from a bad case of cholinergic urticaria for about 2 years, and over the time it has gradually worsened. I began taking 180mg fexofenadine, then once that didn’t work more were added to the list of repeat prescriptions etc. By 1.5 years into the problem i was taking 2- 180mg fexofenadine, 3 levociterizine, 1 montelucast, and 3 loratadine.
Nothing could stop the rash appearing everywhere.
It felt ridiculous taking so many tablets for such minor success, so I saw a different doctor. She agreed with me and suggested 10mg modified release mizollen. I was of course sceptical that 1 tablet could outcompete all the rest. I went cycling 1 hour after taking the tablet, cycled as hard as I could, and for several miles in 26C heat. To my shock and delight, there was no itch, and barely any rash.
Since then, I have taken 1 a day, and incorporated some other methods. I take 2000mg of vitamin C every morning (read that it helped, and it certainly does). Also I have tried simply exhausting my immune system by working out with weights, and cycling intensely every day. G
radually my body’s reaction to the heat subsided, and the condition is severely less impactful on my life.
Please share your own methods/ tips for success with everyone else.
