Hi. Been suffering from cholinergic urticaria for a year now, and I was losing hope. Went to doctors and one of the doctors I went to actually has cholinergic urticaria, and she said there wasn’t a cure. She takes prednisone which helps her but certainly not a cure. I used to be quite active running marathons and working out 5 times a week. I went on a strict diets ranging from scd to allergy elimination to no salt no sugar.
Nothing helped.
I joined crossfit and started going about 3x a week but not pushing myself very much in the workouts. CU was still there. Then I started going every single day in the morning. I lost about 5 pounds and started regaining areas of my body that was able to sweat and the volume of sweating increased.
The “pain period” also stared to decrease. The pain period is the time you start exercising until the time you sweat…and when I start sweating the itch usually subsides. Slowly but surely after doing crossfit religiously and going 100% effort I am noticing a big difference.
I can’t say this is for everyone (talk to a doctor before trying), but if you are desperate enough as I was, you might want to give it a try. I recommend crossfit versus just working out because of the intensity of the workout will get your body flowing and in the safe zone very quickly to minimize the pain. If you try it and it works, please post a reply.
