Hello.
So I’ve had my cholinergic urticaria for about a year and a half now, which is around the same amount of time I’ve been using Duac gel since (on/off) in order to clear spots away on my face. Now for the past 6 months or so I’ve consistently been using Duac gel daily, and I’d say that’s around the same amount of time my cholinergic urticaria has really started to get worse.
Because of this I decided to look into it and possible side effects of Duac gel, and it turns out one of its main ingredients (Clindamycin) can rarely cause hives and rapid itching, which sounds just a little bit too familiar.
I was wondering if there could be at least some sort of relation between Duac Gel and cholinergic urticaria. If anyone has experienced/knows of anything similar please do let me know.
Thanks,
-Mik

Hey, Mik.
That’s an interesting thought.
When I started going through puberty, my face was lit up with zits really bad so I used Duac gel daily, and used it for like 4 months, and when it got better, I only use Duac now every sunday or so, usually once a week. However, my cholinergic urticaria started when I was using it less, not every day, but I was still on it every once in a while, so there might be a link between these two

Or maybe it’s a link between people with bad/a certain type of acne as it’s something in our skin that’s causing the CU.

My acne/zits was due to my puberty as I was around 16 y/o when I started using duac, it’s been a long time since my acne was bad 🙂
