Found a Personal Solution for My Heat-Induced Hives

August 16, 2014 by Hivesguy

Just thought I’d share my personal experience:

I had heat-induced hives for a couple of years. I’d get it about 5 minutes into jogging. It would last for a few minutes then disappear – nothing severe but annoying to the point that sometimes I’d stop jogging. I would also get symptoms in a hot shower, sauna, etc.

I quit smoking about 8 months ago and it hasn’t happened at all. Smoking could very well have been the cause.

All the best to those with the condition.

Interesting. Since I’ve dropped dairy, eggs, soy and very little gmo from my diet (meat was already gone) they are basically gone – if I have too much spicy food or too much caffeine or they come back. The only thing I notice is if I walk to close to someone smoking, I still feel it a little bit – Often my face (the prickles) can tell someone is smoking near me before my nose can!
I agree about the crap in the food, cigarettes and wherever else…
It’s sorta crazy to me! I’m really enjoying my fresh fruits and veggies tho – who knew there were so many interesting veggies out there – i totally recommend roasting rutabaga in the oven. Delightful 🙂

Very interesting thank you. I have switched to clean eating but still smoke, my only vice. Any pointers on how you did it?

I quit smoking, and developed CU shortly thereafter. It’s been about 5 months of misery, as I’m sure you all know. Trying a different antihistamine tomorrow. I’ve already tried 2, as well as cortisone injections. Nothing. I live in south Louisiana, the heat and humidity capital of the world. I leave on a 30 minute lunch break, I’m spotted like a cheetah when I return. I’m so miserable. I’ve NEVER had anything like this before, so any advice is begged for! Thanks!
