I’ve been dealing with cholinergic urticaria for… Wow, about 9 years now? It’s been a long time. It’s kind of gradually worsened over time.
My hives get really bad sometimes such that they cover whole body parts, as there are so many that they end up just blending together. I guess I can deal with how I had to stop exercising and have to be careful in the shower, but what is annoying is that being outside in even not very hot temperatures can mess me up completely.
And I occasionally have anaphylactic reactions with it. That’s only happened 5 or 6 times, but that’s still way too many. I’m frustrated because I ended up in the ER yesterday, and it was only in the 70s out. I didn’t even walk more than about a block.
I wish this would end. It feels like it never will.
Thanks

I’m really sorry to hear about your ER visit and frustration with this, C. All I can say is that you have to hang onto hope for the future. We’ve all suffered in the same way (and many still are suffering). It isn’t easy. Keep fighting. Don’t lose hope with ways to treat it. Keep looking for solutions and trying things with diet/meds, etc. (talk to a doctor first, just to be safe).
You said that your hives have gradually become worse. In that same way, they may gradually ease up. Thanks for sharing your experience and frustrations with it.
