How do I go about an allergy elimination diet as my last resort?

August 1, 2018 by Forum Member

I’ve been dealing with cholinergic urticaria for around 5 years now, and it’s only been getting worse. This year, I started exhibiting more and more troubling symptoms such as constricted throat, wheezing and more hives. I pretty much have tried every single thing (medication, sweat therapy, lifestyle changes, exercise plans, etc) besides an allergy elimination diet, so this is my last resort.

I don’t want to be restricted in what I eat so that’s why I have been holding off on an allergy elimination diet. I also have a load of food allergies to milk related things, fish, nuts.

Some questions I want to ask:

  • How long should I run this diet for?
  • What foods should I avoid, and what foods should I aim to eat?

Currently, I eat a mix of yogurt, pizza, macaroni for breakfast. For lunch and dinner I eat rice with lettuce/broccoli/beans with chicken/steak/beef.

    1. Always talk to a doctor or nutritionist before modifying diet long term.
    2. I’d run the diet for at least 1-2 months.
    3. The foods you avoid will be major allergens. I have repeatedly given an example of what I eat.

You say that you have a known allergy to milk, and then go on to say that you eat yogurt and pizza. Unless you are eating dairy-free yogurt and pizza, those foods are probably a big source of your problem. Once your immune system has identified a potential invader, it will respond accordingly by creating an inflammatory response.

I suffered of CU for three years I went to different doctors and their only option was antihistaminic which I had very side effects, it was waste of time and money. until I found a homeopathic doctor that told me what my problem was, he said that my body was toxic and acidic. He got me in a diet gluten free, no diary, and eating only organic fruits and vegetables, also gave me a bottle called Restore to restore my gut flora and that helped me a lot. now a year later I don’t get those breakouts I use to have.
later I found dr. John Bergman website who talks a lot about auto immune disorders and it’s what I was going through.
I recommend you watch your diet and stop eating processed foods, bread and meats that is what is killing us also watch Dr. John Bergman he has lots of information that will help you.
