Heat hives but no bumps/rash?

May 18, 2017 by Forum Member

Hi,

When my body gets hot or anxious, I get extremely itchy, prickly, and feel stinging. It goes away almost completely when I sweat (for example: at the gym).

Parts of my body may go red on an outbreak, but I don’t get any bumps or welts. Is this heat hives or something else?

Many thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam, this seems like heat hives as I had the same thing, although it’s always best to check with a dermatologist

    Hi Adam,
Don’t discount your symptoms so quickly as just heat hives.
I have had the same thing for 6 years. Being outside in the summer, hot showers, hot cars or even if someone makes me mad and my body temperature goes up from that it feels like I’m being stung by a swarm of bees. It wasn’t until I saw an allergist/immunologist and he did labs that we found out that I have the autoimmune form of chronic urticaria. Which honestly didn’t surprise me because I have 3 other autoimmune diseases. However,I was so grateful to have an answer and possible treatment. Sometimes now I do get lil blisters, but xoliar has allowed me to attend and tolerate the heat durring my son’s baseball games on 90° days and I couidn’t be more thankful.
    Best of luck to you,
    Anilise

Hi I’m 37 years old and pretty much been healthy all my life with the usual common cold and what not! Well for the past week I’ve noticed that I’ve been having this pins and needles sensation and itchiness all over my body every time my body temperature rises! It literally came out of nowhere and now it’s just more frequent every time I go outside or just jump and run around the house with my boys! It’s really freaking me out because when my boys jump on me and start wrestling with me and I start to feel hot, it literally feels like bee stings all over my upper body!! I’ve been looking online trying to see similar symptoms and I’m just so saddened because the thought of not being able to be active with my boys or enjoy a summer vacation with my family is starting to get me depressed since from what I’ve been reading there is no treatment! I have no insurance so the thought of having to spend all this money just so some dermatologist or allergist can’t figure out what’s wrong or some medication isn’t working just seems so horrible and depressing!

I am 55 and have just started suffering from what is described here, I have no hives or rash, but external heat from the sun, stove, oven, car, immediately makes me sting like nettles/jellyfish/sun on sunburn! As soon as i move away from the heat heat it stops. I have been researching a lot of things as i am very healthy, vegetarian and take no medications. I do however take magnesium and calcium, which seems to have come up a few times on this forum, the only other thing thats new in my life, is a use of coconut oil, all over my body, Could it possibly be the coconut oil has blocked my sweat glands? I live in a hot humid country year round. last possibility is the use of Thyme essential oils which i use for rosacea, however I have stopped this over two weeks ago and no change.
