Hives After Chemotherapy or Cancer?

October 5, 2016 by Forum Member

Hello,

Erika reported that her hives started about two months after finishing chemotherapy for breast cancer, and asked if anyone else had the same experience. Yes!!!

I started noticing heat hives during my chemotherapy for breast cancer. My first round of chemo was in the winter, and I didn’t notice anything. In the spring, I started a new round of chemo (Taxol), and that is when I started to notice it.

I am not sure if it was specifically related to the Taxol, or just because I happened to be on the Taxol when the weather started warming up. I finished chemo three months ago, and the hives are even worse now.

I am looking forward to winter.

Thanks,

Miri

I’m thru breast cancer treatment, I had surgeyr, 20 sessions of radiotherapy and after that I was suppossed to receive 4 chemos, but 9 days after the second one I started to have hives in my thighs, arms and each day they were covering some other parts. My doctor suggested to stop my chemos, I also got problems to breathe, morning and night cough, both syntoms are still with me after 2 months of my last chemo.

    Hello,

My last chemo was Feb 2016. Lumpectomy in March followed by 6 weeks of radiation. I started on tamoxifen daily July 4th and soon after noticed that at any increase of body temperature I immediately get extreme itching all over affected area and break out into hives. My doctors offer me no relief for this except that my body has been through allot and that I need to give it time to heal.
