Hives Not Only Itch But Are Painful

March 17, 2014 by Hivesguy

I see some people saying that their hives itch, and some of the more fortunate few say they don’t feel anything when they break out in hives. Does anybody else’s hives hurt? Mine itch as well, mainly when I first start to break out.

Then as it progresses, it is painful–almost like I’m being bitten by fire ants! And it’s unfortunate that I can’t hide my hives. I break out on my chest and neck.

Such is life, just curious if anyone else’s is painful!

Same with me! I itch so bad that it then hurts I’m sitting there like don’t itch don’t itch but even if I don’t scratch it still gets worse and worse it’s such a burden to live with

Finally looked into this… I’m 34 and have always had a “heat itch” problem, my whole life. Normally, when I got hot, my head would itch terribly. Over the Last few days though, in addition to the head itch, I started having a severe stinging sensation, “stinging goose bumps” on my chest, back, arms and legs. which I looked up and found this description. Sure enough, I’ve also been getting the little red dots where the stinging sensation has been occurring. Weird! I also get flaky skin on my chin and sideburns when I overheat (goatee dandruff? Embarssing! Keeping clean shaved doesn’t help either, actually makes it worse) I’m going to lay off the spicy food for a while although I put jalepenos on EVERYTHING normally, I don’t THINK diet is a trigger or I would be experiencing outbreaks much more frequently, but this new development with the STING is practically disabling! And with summer just around the corner and living in Texas…. YUCK!

Well at least I’m not the only one. Although I’m not happy yall are experiencing the same thing. It just is awful because A.) I’m in the military and B.) I’m in hawaii! And ya i get the flaking skin as well on my face, and mainly the hives appear on my neck and upper torso. Walling from the building to my vehicle is always a chore, and I’m supposed to have an outdoor wedding in a few months! I hope this subsides by then, I’m getting an allergy test done Wednesday to try to find and eliminate anything that may be making this worse. And jalapeños will help trigger it Jeramy, seeing as they are spicy and would increase your body temp! I have avoided all spicy food, and even avoided energy drinks and coffee for a while now. I just need it to go away so I can go back to a normal life and routine!
