How do you sleep with hives?

January 31, 2015 by Hivesguy

When its cold at night and I am relaxing on the couch, I like to have a cover on. However, I start to get very itchy. Also, when I go to sleep at night my head gets very itchy from laying on the pillow. I usually toss and turn trying to fall asleep but it takes me forever because of all the itchiness.

Does this happen to any of you and what things have you done to help with your sleep?

    I get the same thing.
I’ve been wondering if it’s from hairspray, shampoo or conditioner. The itchy area is only above my ears in the hair area, not all over.
I rub some Benadryl gel and that usually helps. Plus I take a Zyrtec in the evening too.

Same happens to me plus other itchy times from heat, exercise, pressure on my skin, etc, I take cetrizine and singular in the morning and 2 tsp of baby strength liquid Benadryl at night and wash my hair with shampoo for dry scalp every other day. This helps me sleep but I still suffer in the day time. Have stopped using all hairspray this week and that seems to help a little more. Still seeking solutions too! Good luck with yours!

Use lighter covers to feel comfortable but not hot. Keep that thermostat to 60-61, no more. Its a waste of heating money and it is not healthy as we warm up when we sleep. Heat escapes through the head. Its probably not products, but eliminate to make sure.

I bought a lighter sheet to sleep with at night and normally if I get to the point where I’m so itchy its making it hard to sleep, I take a couple Benedryl to knock me out.
