It’s been six months since the last time I shared my experience regarding this allergy. Right now I am happy to tell you that finally my cu is gone! I don’t know how it happened, but it’s gone!
I first noticed it when I was with my friends and we were going somewhere. We were all exposed to sun from 12pm to 2pm, and I stopped taking cetirizine by that time. I was worried because anytime I knew my allergies will came out soon, but it didn’t.
Then I thought maybe it was not that hot to trigger my allergy but that time was so freaking hot!! Then the second time was when I was at the beach with my friends. And we enjoy the beach for about 4hrs under the sun! It was so hot since it was summer by that time and again there was no sign of cu. I didn’t feel any discomfort!
Since then, I never experience uc again. I don’t know how this has happened but I think it’s because I stopped taking cetirizine. My body got used to my allergy or maybe immune to it. I am not sure if this is possible but right now I am not afraid of exposing myself to sunlight and I am able to freely express my emotions with no worries because before when I felt excited, I started to feel discomfort and itch. Hope you too will conquer your allergies just like mine.
Thank you for reading π

Sam, I sure hope you are cured for good and glad to hear your experience. A note to others: In the past when i took Vistaril or an antihistamine and then quit there was a period of a few days where I was both free of the drug side effects and zero hives too. After a while the hives returned. Still, the off and on was a good thing so I wasn’t suffering from the drug effects all the time and the few good days were very good. Sam seems to have gotten all good days now which is great. I did not, but then it led to experiment with lower doses, etc. and then the best advice is from Ben’s book. Oh, one other thing. I also noticed when I had a cold that the hives usually were gone too. Something about fighting the live viruses and the interferon etc. must have turned off the hives. How many viruses and antigenic particles do we harbor in addition to food antigens in the gut? Who knows. But keep looking and thanks for sharing!

John, Its good to hear that you dont suffer too much from the side effects of the meds. Hoping yours will be gone too. Lessening the dose of meds sometimes helps us to cure our allergies. Thanks John π

Ah. Not trying to burst your bubble but I hope it’s gone for good for you. I had it in 7th grade and it went away in late may. And has been doing so every year and has been coming back in late January EVERY year. Every year I’m like wow I’ve never sweated so much and I did everything to get a reaction and I couldn’t. Than around the months of late January to late may it comes back randomly!!! I’ve had it for 5 years. I wish you luck and hope it’s gone for good! Mine went away last month but I’m not convinced that it won’t happen again in late January. I have it really severe too. It prevented me from driving in senior year even though I had my license so I had to quit my job and be very cautious in gmy class. The outbreak would be all over my body and would swell up. Became very noticeable in class
