I’m Dying. Please Help

April 25, 2014 by Hivesguy

It’s been over 7 months, and now the temperature in my country is 37C. I still get  urticaria.

I literally tried every single solution written in here and nothing worked or even made the rash easier.

My life is now a living hell, and I seriously need anything to try. Please help me…anyone.

    Ali,

You’ve already asked this question on this forum once, so I’ll go ahead and send this new question through. However, please do not continue submitting the same question over and over again. Instead, please use the comment section on this article to add updates or further questions related to this specific question.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling, but have you really tried every single treatment available for this? What doctors have you worked with? Have you tried every single antihistamine available? Have you tried different antihistamine combinations (H1 and H2)? Have you tried UVB therapy? Have you tried immunosuppressive drugs? Have you tried sweat therapy? Have you tried different allergy elimination diets? Have you tried anti-anxiety or antidepressants?

What exactly have you tried? Please give us more details of everything you’ve done and how it long you tried it and when.

The reason I ask is because you keep saying you’ve tried everything written on this site, but you don’t give any further details. Even when I was suffering with cholinergic urticaria, I never tried every single treatment option available, simply because some seemed too dangerous or ineffective.

As I’ve told you before, I’ve already written everything I know about this condition, and other people on this forum have been gracious enough to share what’s worked for them. If you’ve really tried every single thing mentioned on this site, then I don’t know what else to tell you other than to hang in there and don’t lose hope. You can beat this thing over time.

It may be helpful if you would be more specific about what you’ve tried, how long you’ve tried it, etc.

I’m sorry to hear that you have such a severe case, and that it’s causing you so much pain and grief. I know how it feels to go through a rough time. Just know that you aren’t alone, and many others are suffering along with you out there. I pray that your hives get better soon.

Don’t lose hope. Hang in there. I know life probably seems bleak right now, but things will get better in time. You can beat this thing.

    Ali,

I would suggest you to try sauna, but you need to be very careful and take someone with you just in case. Be strong and try to stay in the sauna until your body sweat and pain goes away.

I was in the same situation and that is what I exactly did. Now, over 3 weeks and no sign of cholinergic urticaria (thank God). I pray for you too, bro.

Also, ask your doctor about an EpiPen and make sure he approves before trying this.

Use sweat therapy every day I ran with two jackets on till I started to sweat then after two weeks I didn’t itch at all even when I was in the sun at 30 degrees celcius!! I need to try a sauna! Because using a sauna is easier than running it would be ten times quicker

      Ryan,

Did you initially have red wheels/hives along with the itching or just the itching? Did your symptoms gradually go away or was it all of the sudden one day in the second week of your therapy? I’m about seriously try sweat therapy myself and was curious about how you progressed during your sweat therapy. Thanks for your post.

I’ve got both cholinergic urticaria AND cold urtricaria. Like, for example, if my arm had hives and I cooled it with ice, it would just swell until I can’t feel it anymore. I can’t even shower with cold water or hot water, but I have to struggle with setting the perfect temperature every single time. I can’t go out in winter, or my face will be covered with hives, or in summer, where my whole body will be covered with hives. I live in a country where summer temperatures reach 50 degrees celsius, I’m not even kidding. I’ve tried antihistamines from several doctors, and when I told them it doesn’t work, all they’ve told me is to avoid what triggers it. Slight emotion changes, spicy foods, heat, water, fevers trigger it all. I can’t live my whole life being locked in my room and spending thirty minutes adjusting water temperature every time I want to take a shower. It’s so severe, that when my body senses even the slightest change of temperature, I get shortness of breath, a horrible tingling sensation all over my head and neck, and dark shapes around my eyes like I’m going to faint. And it’s gotten this bad in a year only. I want a solution too. Please help me.

      Hello, May.

I’m really sorry to hear of your struggles as well. I know it must be really hard dealing with two frustrating and debilitating urticarias at once. Several others on this site have posted that they also suffer with both cholinergic urticarial and cold urticaria.

What worked best for me was going through my diet with lots of experimentation, and removing foods that were causing my hives symptoms. I’ve written some about that here on this site and also in the book I wrote. I do not know if diet experimentation would be helpful in the case of cold urticaria, but I had a pretty severe case of cholinergic urticaria, and it cured me.

My advice would be that you realize that you’re not alone in your struggles, have faith that life will get better, and I’d encourage you to keep reading this site on what’s helped me and others. Consider trying anything you think will help you (under a doctor’s approval, of course).

Don’t give up. I lived like a recluse for a while, and I felt like my life was over. Now I live hives-free.

      God bless you

I have hives from sweating and it is worse in the summer. It really confines me to indoors. I live in a dry heat area of the country. Not sure if moving to a more humid area would help so I would sweat more. Thinking about moving to San Antonia, TX where it is more humid. This started about a year ago and has progressively gotten worse. My doctor gave me Tramcinolone Acetonide Cream 0.1% it has no effect. As a matter of fact the over the counter 1% hydrocortisone cream works better. That is only temporary. I will see my dermatologist in a few days and will talk to him about what I have learned from this blog. I am just happy to know others have the same problem and maybe we can find something together that works.

Hi my name is mason I’m 16 years old, and I’ve been suffering with cholinergic urticaria for 4 years now, and i cant do anything. I cant talk to girls i like, or go out with my mates. I spend most of my life at home and in my bedroom with the fan on which does nothing, and today i was going to share my worst experience with you. I was in school and i was called up in front of the assembly for talking, i had to stand in front of 2000 students they were all staring at me and i was so nervous, and my urticaria was flaring up so bad i felt like tearing my skin off. I couldn’t scratch otherwise kids would think i had flees or something and make fun of me, and it would just get worse i just walked out and and ran to the bathroom and chucked water all over me, i never felt so bad in my life. however thats not the end of it my urticaria flares up for many reasons such as, if someone starts talking to me when i didn’t expect it, or having a shower, or even eating warm food. the whole point I’m telling people this is because, i cant be the only one and i need to know I’m not alone so if anyone can relate please reply.
