Inability to sweat questions…

December 14, 2016 by Forum Member

Hey, y’all! Good morning…

I’ve had cholinergic urticaria for over a year now, and as I’ve read through this forum, most people mention the inability to sweat. Interestingly, I’ve had cholinergic urticaria but never the inability to sweat.

Has anyone else never had that issue? I’m wondering why I’m different. Perhaps it’ll lead me to a possible solution… any reflections appreciated. 🙂

Cheers,

Mikayla

Hello, Mikayla. Some people with cholinergic urticaria lose the ability to sweat (anhidrosis). Others have reduced sweating functions, and some people seem to retain their sweating function. This could be due to the different subsets of cholinergic urticaria that some researchers have hypothesized to exist.

For me I noticed an increase in oedema. Especially longer attacks caused caused it. I think any reaction can occur. Ive had cold and hot sweats, the runs, chest pain… all linked I think. Then it all goes away when the rash stops. I’m sure it’s brain chemicals throwing wrong signals. consistently changing diet seems to reduce the number of attacks as does change to routine.
