Hi, I am from Philippines and I am suffering from hives for almost 5 years now ( I think). I experienced it first when I was 15. I got hospitalized ’cause I can’t breathe, but after that incident I haven’t experienced it for 2 years.
When I turned 18 I’ve experienced it again. We’re just saying that it is an allergy reaction from what I’ve eat, or because of the alcohol that we’ve drink. Because of hives my mental health is not that great.
I keep on thinking about negative things. Every time I experience it, I swear to God dying is always in my mind. I don’t know why, lol. “It’s better than scratching every time.” Too much itchiness can drag me in negative world. You might say I’m just over reacting, but no, I am just afraid to be sick.
I just wish doctors, scientist, pharmacist etc., can develop a drug that can make this hives go away forever.
I’m typing this while enduring that itchiness rn.

Hi there~ I experienced hives for first time after having a mango based drink for the first time around 11years ago, since then I have had it multiple times. Earlier it used to be much worse as I didn’t know what to do or how to control my itchiness, but since I have realized many more food items causing the reaction, I have moved yo more healthy diet. Also, I have realized that I have never breathed very well, improving my breathing is helping me calm down too as a person. When I get hives, I try to sit in an air conditioned environment, not move much and focus on my breathing. Deep breathing and calming down myself has been able to aggravate it and actually recently I got may be 15 bumps or so and they all went back in , in about 30 mins. That’s a great control against many hours that I had to live with itchiness and rashes as per my first time.
Hope this helps,

The only thing which can give immediate temporary relief is to cool down the itch with ice pouch or going to air conditioned cool space. Combination of some antihistamines can also give some relief, but unfortunately nothing helps permanently. I have been suffering from it since around 17
