Hi fellow prickly people, my names Lukas, and I too break out in a terrible prickly feeling all over when I get hot or anxious. I started getting this very uncomfortable sensation in my late teens like many others did. I know that many of us understand that sweating has something to do with this condition but I want to make a clearer simpler hypothesis.
We have been exposed to something foreign and sweating helps eliminate it. I’ve heard stories on here about people that return to their sport after an injury and feel the prickly sensation for the first time when they get back into it. This is where my case is somewhat interesting, during my first semester in my senior year in high school I wasn’t in school AT ALL and this is when I started noticing the stinging sensation.
During the semester off I wasn’t exercising/sweating as much as I was the previous year, but the BIG CHANGE in my life was the fact that I was staying inside my house almost ALL day! Someone named Ahmed from this site commented, “for better or worse .. when they changed where they live .. some of them even moved to a different apartment in the same city … confusing”. Hmmmm, very interesting Ahmed, very interesting indeed.
For many of us the sensation doesn’t arise in certain countries so why could that be? Okay stay with me, if you live on the assumption that this is not genetic, then it must be caused by something outside of our bodies, something that we are eating, breathing, or absorbing through our skin.
It very well could be any or all of these but from my experience and from what I’ve read I am leaning towards 2 of these theories. I have been living in the same house for around 8 years and hadn’t had any problems with my health up until I took that semester off.
This leads to believe that this is an airborne issue…MOLD. Ahmed’s observation would make sense, the traveling stories would make sense, my story would make sense. I’ve always heard that sweating is a detox so that would make sense.
Mold isn’t in every home, but it is in many and it causes some really diverse symptoms including weird skin sensations. I had a bunch under my house that my family just had removed. Mold is commonly inhaled but it is also in food, this leads to believe that food is the second culprit.
I noticed that certain foods make my symptoms worse. I’m really curious to what others have to say about this mold theory, I really believe it has something to do with my house because that was the biggest change of variable for my self. Not to mention I’ve been dealing with other problems with my health/mind recently.
