Hello!
I have just recently been diagnosed with cholinergic urticaria. I was wondering: I was in california (Sonoma county) last summer (June) and went to a clinic there because I had broken out in a allergic reaction. The Doc said she was certain it was bedbugs and that I was highly allergic because she had never seen them so big, but she was sure because it came in threes (breakfast, lunch, and supper).
Last January I was diagnosed with shingles, now I had the electric shock type of pain in one area but not really in another. Can those two incidents be due to cholinergic urticaria? Misdiagnosed?

Hi Steph,
I had shingles in August of 2013, was prescribed Gabapentin, and after the shingles went away (about 10 days later), I started having the episodes of hives. From stumbling upon this website, I believe I have cholinergic urticaria too! I have always wondered if the shingles led to this – because it never used to happen to me before I had shingles!
