Hey everyone,
So I’ve been dealing with cholinergic urticaria for the past 5 months. My hives were worst when I was on an elimination diet consisting only of fish, brown rice, and lettuce.
When I started eating fats and a varied healthy diet again, interestingly, my passive heating symptoms went away, and now I can take hot showers and lay in the sun without getting hives. But if I hike up a mountain, I will get hives.
I know now that hives play a crucial role with my cholinergic urticaria. I think my CU might have developed after I was on a low/no fat diet for months, before the elimination diet.
So now I just need to figure out how to stop the active heating hives too. Has anyone had an experience with CU like this? Interesting– such a mystery these bodies are.
Thanks,
-Mikayla

Hello, Mikayla. The only thing I can say is that cholinergic urticaria symptoms can vary over time. Also, beware of eating too much fish due to the high histamine/allergic possibilities. I hope you get your hives back under control again soon.
